Sónar is an electronic festival in Europe held every year in Barcelona, Spain. It was founded by Ricard Robless, Enric Paulau and Sergi Caballero.
This festival is organized by Advanced Music S.L. It promotes digital arts, the art of mixing and electronic music. The festival has been held in June since 1994.
The festival takes place in 3 main venues in Barcelona: the CCCB, the MACBA and finally the Gran Via Fair. The festival has a capacity for 122,000 people.
This year’s festival will begin on June 15, 2023 and end on June 17, 2023. Also this year we will celebrate 30 years of Sònar.
Some of the artists who participated and will also attend this year’s event were: Carl Cox, Jeff Mills, Mira Calix, Aphex Twin, Steve Reich and others.
This year’s Sònar program includes around 70 activities, there will also be the presentation of many projects. This year’s central theme is the impact of artificial intelligence on the arts, industries and creative processes.
